Originally caught by Piers, Devon was given to Arthur when they were all very young. Thanks to the situation they lived in and an accident he won't speak about, Arthur was very reclusive and barely spoke; Piers had hoped that having an aura-reading Pokemon would help him be understood and be able to protect him. While it took time, this was proven true - with Devon's help, Arthur came out of his shell.

Because of what his trainer has gone through, Devon is extremely protective of him and becomes very hostile if he feels Arthur is threatened. When not on guard, he's a calm and caring Pokemon and doesn't mind engaging with other trainers at all.
